Israeli Military Urges Evacuation from Areas in Yemen Ahead of Airstrikes

The Israeli military has issued warnings of imminent airstrikes targeting several port cities in Yemen, advising residents to evacuate, according to the Reuters news agency.

Israeli authorities state that these locations are being used for military operations. The areas identified include the ports of Hodeidah, Ras Isa, and Al-Salif, as well as the power plant in Hodeidah.

Israel has previously carried out retaliatory strikes in Yemen, focusing on ports under the control of the Houthi movement and the airport in the capital, Sana'a, which is also held by the group.

The Houthi rebels in Yemen, who are backed by Iran, have repeatedly launched missile and drone attacks against Israel. These actions intensified following the outbreak of the Gaza conflict in October 2023, which began after an attack on Israel by Hamas.
