Zelensky Describes Recent Call with President Trump as Most Productive to Date

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has described his recent telephone conversation with United States President Donald Trump as the most constructive and effective discussion the two leaders have held so far. Speaking during a televised address on Saturday, Zelensky stated that the call, which took place earlier in the week, was likely the best and most productive exchange between the two presidents to date.

Zelensky explained that the conversation focused on air defence cooperation, expressing his appreciation for the United States' willingness to provide assistance. He specifically highlighted the importance of the Patriot missile defence system, describing it as a crucial element in protecting Ukraine from ballistic missile threats.

The United States has been a key supporter of Ukraine, providing military and humanitarian aid since the beginning of the conflict with Russia in 2022. Air defence systems, such as the Patriot, have played a significant role in Ukraine's efforts to defend its territory against missile attacks.
