Over a Ton of Cocaine Seized from Boat Off Australian Coast

Australian authorities have confiscated more than one ton of cocaine from a vessel off the coast of New South Wales. The operation took place on Friday near South West Rocks, approximately 450 kilometers north of Sydney, where police intercepted a 13-meter-long boat. During the operation, law enforcement officials discovered what they believe to be 1,110 packages of cocaine, totaling 1,039 kilograms in weight.

Five men, aged in their 20s and 30s, have been arrested in connection with the incident. Two of the suspects were found aboard the boat, while the others were apprehended on land. Authorities have indicated that investigations into the origins of the narcotics and the circumstances surrounding the arrests are ongoing.
