Joint Expeditionary Force Strengthens Cooperation with Ukraine

Ukraine is set to deepen its involvement with the Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF), as member nations have agreed to include Ukraine in various military exercises. This decision was announced following a meeting held in Oslo on Friday, where the JEF countries expressed their commitment to enhancing their partnership with Ukraine.

A joint statement from the meeting emphasized that the JEF stands united with Ukraine, outlining a strengthened partnership that may encompass a range of activities and initiatives. The government highlighted four specific areas of focus:

• Ukrainian participation in relevant military exercises, high-level meetings, and forums.
• Further development of training support for Ukraine's armed forces.
• Increased mutual learning regarding modern warfare and technological innovation.
• Preparations for more extensive Ukrainian involvement in future JEF activities.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the JEF member countries via video link during the meeting. The JEF comprises ten nations: the United Kingdom, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Norway.
