Governor Confirms Military Assembly in Sumy Amid Russian Attack

Volodymyr Artjukh, the governor of Sumy, has acknowledged the presence of military personnel in the city on the day of a recent attack, clarifying that he did not initiate the assembly. When asked about who was responsible for the gathering, he indicated that it was a matter to be addressed at a later time. Meanwhile, Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide, along with other Western officials, condemned the Russian assault, stating that targeting civilians in such a manner constitutes a serious violation of international humanitarian law. In response, the Kremlin has consistently maintained that the attack was aimed at a military target. The assault resulted in the deaths of 35 individuals and left approximately 120 others injured.
