This Man is Over 1 Million Years Old

Archaeologists have announced the discovery of a fossilized fragment of a human ancestor's face, marking it as the oldest find of its kind in Europe. The incomplete skull, which includes parts of the left cheekbone and upper jaw, was unearthed in northern Spain in 2022. According to research published in the journal Nature, this fossil dates back between 1.1 million and 1.4 million years. This discovery is particularly significant as it represents the first time that substantial remains older than one million years have been found in Western Europe, shedding new light on the region's prehistoric human activity.
