The Norwegian Space Agency has finalized a contract for the launch of two small satellites from Andøya, collaborating with the German company ISAR Aerospace, which will utilize the launch platform at Andøya Spaceport. The satellites will be deployed using the Spectrum rocket, marking a significant milestone as it will be the first operational space rocket to be launched from Norway. The initial test launch is anticipated to occur within the coming days.

Although the two Norwegian satellites are not scheduled for launch until 2028, several other satellite launches are expected to take place from Andøya Spaceport prior to that date. The satellites, part of the Arctic Ocean Surveillance (AOS) program, are designed for maritime monitoring, contributing to enhanced oversight of oceanic activities in the region.
