Teen drama: how much bathroom chaos is too much?
Our 15-year-old has practically moved into the bathroom. It’s constantly overflowing with trash, dirty clothes, makeup, and skincare products. The sink is perpetually buried under her stuff, and the whole place feels like a war zone. Every time we have guests, we have to scramble to clean up the chaos.
I clean and tidy the bathroom daily, but she immediately messes it up again. I’ve suggested she use her own room instead, but she gets furious and insists she has as much right to the bathroom as everyone else in the house.
She even gets upset when I clean up—throwing away used pads and related trash or moving her makeup to her room sparks a huge argument.
How much do you let your teens take over shared spaces like the bathroom? Am I being unreasonable for wanting some order, or is this just typical teenage behavior?
