Got pregnant while breastfeeding? or right after birth?

Hey everyone! I'm just wondering if anyone here has experienced getting pregnant while breastfeeding — or soon after giving birth? 🤔 I'd love to hear some real stories.

I’m currently breastfeeding full-time and haven’t started any hormonal birth control yet. At my last checkup, the nurse suggested I could go back on the pill, but honestly... I’m a bit hesitant. My body still feels like it's adjusting post-birth, and I’m already swimming in hormones. The idea of adding more just doesn’t sit right with me right now.

So at the moment, my partner and I are just using condoms. It works, but I’m a little paranoid. I’ve heard mixed things — some people say breastfeeding can delay fertility, while others say they got pregnant again almost immediately, even while nursing around the clock.

Have any of you or someone you know gotten pregnant while breastfeeding? Or maybe really soon after giving birth? Was it planned, a surprise, or did it all work out in the end?

I would really appreciate any honest experiences, especially if you’ve navigated this without jumping right back onto hormonal birth control 🙏
